I walked along the beach alone,
sky dark, wind-blown,
waves cold and grey,
this autumn day.
With you, we could have looked for shells,
cast magic spells
with seaweed strands
on crystal sands.
We'd skip together laughing loud,
chase scudding cloud
with love aflame,
run in the rain.
